5 Reasons You Should Check Out SLO Naz Church

Finding a new church to attend can be tough because there are often so many to choose from in every town and city.  There’s so much to consider! The predicament is how to find the best church for you and your family’s needs.

You may find yourself on Google asking questions like, “Which church should I join in SLO?”  “Best churches in San Luis Obispo,” or “Christian churches near me.” You may find a lot of results but what an internet search can’t tell you, is which church is right for you.

Everyone’s needs are different when it comes to finding the right church home and community. We at SLO Naz are a family-friendly church with multiple generations worshiping together and fostering community with mid-week events and groups!

In your search for a new church home, here are five reasons you should check out SLO Naz Church:

1. Church Community

Sunday mornings are celebrated in-person and online with our multigenerational church community!  We believe that the church extends beyond our walls and city because we are not a building but a people.

SLO Naz Church is a place where people can meet Jesus,  engage in a supportive community, and feel welcomed.  We believe in creating a space in San Luis Obispo where people can have authentic encounters with Christ, discover their gifts, and use them for life-giving purposes.  This happens through worship, sermons, mid-week life groups, and people who go beyond Sunday mornings to reach you and the community.

This is the church.  This is the mission of SLO Naz Church.

2. Teen Programs

The teenage years are about learning, making mistakes, and growing in a safe, supportive, and caring space.  SLO Naz Church’s youth group, SLO Student Ministries (or SLOSM), values real people and encourages doing life together.  We do that by creating a space where we can laugh, be adventurous, and support one another in all aspects of our growth.

The goal is to encourage students to have a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.  Through that relationship, we can help students realize what God has called them to.

You can join SLO Student Ministries (6th-12th grade) every Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm on our campus and Sunday mornings at 9:30 am.

3. Kids’ Programs

In SLO, we are dedicated to creating a safe space for children to have an energetic, fun, and life-equipping place to be a kid.  Every week, we offer groups and events for kids such as “Parents Night Out” on Fridays at 6 pm, homeschool co-ops, preschool classes, and Sunday School during Sunday morning services.  These groups are filled with games, lessons, and songs overseen by our trained, professional staff.

As parents, we understand the importance of safety for our kids. We want to ensure you can trust SLO Naz church’s children's programs as every pastor and volunteer has been vetted through Ministry Safe’s extensive background checks.  You can rest easy knowing your kids are in safe, trusted care.

4. Young Adults & College Groups

Whether you’re single, married, in college, or working, your 20s are some of the most formative years of your life.  It can be tough making new friends, especially when it comes to finding the right group to grow with spiritually. We are all in different stages of our walks with Christ and we don’t expect you to know everything as Christians.  We encourage questions and don’t shy away from tough discussions. We’re in this together!

Our Young Adults group meets weekly for studies, events, and whatever else! You can join the group anytime at one of their meetings every Thursday night at 6:30 pm (rotating location) and Sundays at 9:30 am on the SLO Naz Church campus.

5. Mission Centric Living

Sunday morning worship services, life groups, volunteering, camps, events, and more; there is no shortage of ways to get involved in the community at SLO Naz Church.

Each ministry, opportunity to serve, and service held at SLO Naz church is for that reason: To welcome all in our community, encourage one another with life-giving care and support, and build one another up with purpose.

Because we are the church and not the building, we must act!  We encourage you to check out what the people of SLO Naz Church are doing, and not just the place where we meet.

You can join our church during any of the mid-week ministry times listed above or on Sunday mornings, in-person or online, at 10:45 am.
