We believe strongly that God calls us to serve. We want to echo the words of John the Baptist, John 3:30 “He must become greater; I must become less”. It’s really not about me… It’s more about us, and what God wants to do in and through us. The focus on our ministry is not on the servant or even the task, but on the glorious God whom we serve.
We, at SLOnaz Church, desire to journey with you. If you would like to get involved and use your God-given talents and gifts within this church; we ask that you begin your journey with us by letting us get to know you. Come, be a part, take in, and then in time, find your place of service within our church body.
1 John 4:1 “Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3 but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.
Requirements of Deacons: 1 Timothy 3:8 Deacons, likewise, are to be men worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain. 9 They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience. 10 They must first be tested; and then if there is nothing against them, let them serve as deacons.
List of Ministries:
Worship Arts & Media
In our services at SLOnaz Church, our desire is to create space for people to encounter God and to facilitate believers in giving Him all the attention and honor He rightly deserves. The Worship Arts and Media ministry of SLOnaz exist to help us do that. Through these diverse teams we take our passion for God and combine it with art, beauty, and creativity to make our worship experience the richest it can be.
THE WORSHIP ARTS
We have a fantastic community of believers with a common interest in worshiping our Savior. Our skilled band members and vocalists practice together during the week – working hard to bring their best before Jesus and prayerfully desiring to inspire others to the same.

If you are a musician and want to to be a part of a band that is passionate about worshiping God with your instrument, we would love to hear from you. We are open to all kinds of instrumentation and we love to be creative in how we utilize them.
This is a group of people who love to sing and have a heart for God. Vocalists are involved in the weekend music averaging 1-2 weekends a month.
If you like acting, we have weekend skit opportunities, occasional video skits and host needs, and we strive to put on 2-3 larger plays/productions per year. All ages, all skill levels available.
THE MEDIA ARTS
There are many people behind the scenes that work hard to make the weekend services and other church events happen with excellence and without distraction. These people are the “silent giants” of the public ministries at SLOnaz Church. They are the people who help us see, hear, and experience every service, event and social medium.
The camera team brings the practical value of image capturing for online content as well as artistry to enhance the worship experience. We have found people of all ages can excel in this position. A steady, smooth hand and an artistic eye are helpful.
The lighting technicians serve the congregation with lighting-design to support praise and worship, dramas and sermons. We view lighting as an enhancement to the worship experience and desire to bring the best possible artistic and non-distracting presentation. A person with an artistic eye will enjoy this ministry.
The projection team serves the congregation, vocal team, and worship leaders with lyrics, announcements and sermon support. This important position requires an individual who will learn the songs, can easily read and follow written instructions and stay focused under pressure. A degree of technical efficiency is helpful.
This team operates the sound system for services and events. This ministry serves the congregation to bring the best possible mix from the instruments and vocals on stage. Experienced sound training and a musical ear are beneficial.
This team of creative individuals meets to design stage décor which is changed every six to twelve weeks. This team is also responsible for design and implementation of our stage sets.
This team supports the band and vocal team during Sunday services and during rehearsal. This position does not require any special sound training as it is a serving position to provide the band and vocal team with what they need to lead the congregation. If you can take direction and have a strong back (occasional lifting/moving of cables and equipment) you can support this ministry. Training in other technical areas possible (i.e. lighting, sound, etc)
The video editing ministry serves the congregation with video announcements, sermon support videos, recorded service editing, production support, and many yet undiscovered areas. Artistry and technical ability are necessary. Final Cut Pro is used for our in-house editing currently.
This team consists mostly of younger individuals that handle the media needs for the youth ministry. The team serves in sound, lighting, projection and video editing for youth services and special events.
